Effective Health and Safety Committees
A course designed to inform and empower the members of your health and safety committees to create a result driven and action orientated team.
This course can kick start your health and safety programme and develop the knowledge and skills of delegates to enable them to effectively represent the health and safety interests of colleagues and contribute to the safety culture within the business through the health and safety committee as per the Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996.
New or experienced non-union safety representatives
The qualification covers the following topics:
- Functions of the Safety Representative
- Strategies for effective consultation
- Accident Investigation
- Safety Inspections
- Risk Assessment
- Behavioural safety issues
- Communication skills and presentations
- Records and information sharing
- Goal setting for health and safety
C.I.E.H. Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace certificate is usually included as part of this course

By use of exercises, handouts and group work etc in an informal setting, either on your premises or in our training room. Each student receives a copy of the textbook and handouts. Our courses are conducted in English, but a range of foreign language papers and work books are available for candidates who would find it easier.

Norman Gentry Consulting Certificate of Attendance will be issued to all delegates successfully completing the course.
At the end of the course, as part of our quality monitoring procedures and to contribute to the on-going development and improvement of the programme, all delegates will be asked to complete a course evaluation.
