Who should attend?

Suitable for a variety of candidates, including new employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge, employees handling low-risk or wrapped food or those who work front of house, such as waiting or check out staff, as well as back of house such as kitchen porters or warehouse staff.

The qualification covers the following topics:

Course Duration:

3 hours

 

Assessment Method:

Short objective test of 15 multiple choice questions

 

Entry Requirements:

None - Appropriate for all employees before they start working in a food environment

 

Qualification:

C.I.E.H. or H.A.B.C.
Level 1 Award in Food Safety Awareness in Catering
or Level 1 Award in Food Safety Awareness for Retail
or Level 1 Award in Induction into Food Safety for Manufacturing

 

Suggested progression on completion:

Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering
Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing
Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Retail
